Hello everybody. This page was just setup hastily to help those with Napster problems. Those of you who were banned from Napster for any reason (ie. Metallica, etc.) This little fix will help you get back onto Napster. Basically, you can't just try to register for a new name to be unbanned. When you were banned, your windows system registry was changed so that you couldn't just redownload Napster and get a new username (If you tried this, you found that your new username was automatically banned as well). This little file will help you out...
It was not written by me, I found it while searching the internet. Here is how to use it.
1.) Uninstall Napster (run the actual uninstall program, don't just delete the directory Napster was installed to).
2.) Download the file above, and unzip it. You can unzip it using a program like winzip. If you don't have winzip, you can go here to download a shareware version of it. http://www.winzip.com After unzipping the Ban Solution, double click the "Napster_Ban_Solution.bat" file. The program will make the necessary registry changes, and takes less than a second to run.
3.) Redownload the newest version of Napster, and install it. After installing it, pick a NEW username. Anything will do. If you choose a name that is banned, you will have to go through this whole process again.
4.) You're now back on Napster. I suggest not sharing the mp3 files that got you into trouble in the first place (put them in a directory that is NOT below a directory that is shared, otherwise they will be automatically shared).
